OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — LightWild has completed the solid-state lighting project at the Korals Sushi and Cocktail Lobby Bar in the Marriott Marco Island Golf Club & Spa.

Located approximately 22 miles from Naples, Fla., the 735-room Marco Island property underwent an extensive renovation in 2009. Included in this renovation is the Korals Lobby Bar. Designed by Malcolm Berg, Principal of EoA, Inc., the bar features two areas highlighted with honey onyx stone. Underneath the 26-foot bar top, two honey onyx stone slabs have been illuminated by 25 of LightWild Panels (12x12 in or 300x300 mm) with warm white LEDs. In a second location behind the bar, 10 LightWild Panels (6x6 in or 150x150 mm) with warm white LEDs are used to illuminate a 34-foot piece of stone.

"The bar has a wave like feel with the wood above the bar representing mangrove roots coming out of the sea, which is common in this area," says architect Malcolm Berg. "The entire project used about eight slabs of natural stone and turned out beautifully."
